Here is an index of instructional articles from the Guild of Metalsmith's newsletter, The Metalsmith. It is currently (1997) a ten page alphabetical listing of some 491 articles from volumes 1 through 20. These are only the articles which I felt had some instructional content. A more up to date listing can be found at www.metalsmith.org
Note that this "Metalsmith" is the magazine of "The Guild of Metalsmiths" which is a (mostly) blacksmithing organization and NOT a goldsmithing organization!!!!
A descriptive field offers additional information when needed. The database itself contains an additional (available if needed) attribute for the source of each article. The entry "Orig." means that, as far as I know, the article was first published in The Metalsmith, itself. Otherwise, I credited either the source newsletter, or the source author.
